Buying chanterelles: how to determine freshness and quality

Eating rotten mushrooms can make you sick. This is how you can tell if chanterelles are really fresh and worth the money when you buy them.

Chanterelles are a delicacy. And now, in the middle of the season, wild mushrooms are sold everywhere. However, freshness and quality are the last and final of all mushroom dishes. 1. Buying chanterelles: the origin


Most of the chanterelles we offer come from Eastern Europe. Collecting, sorting, packing and transporting the mushrooms takes time, sometimes even several days. 3. Buy chanterelles – wrapped in foil or not?
